7th November, Week 4, Term 4
From Our Principal - Mr Brendan Moloney
Dear Families,
Term 4 seems to be flying past at a rapid rate as we are coming to the end of Week 4 already. We are currently well into our planning for 2025, this process will take some time as we work to create the best structures to support all our students to be successful.
Class numbers are an important component of this planning process. If you know of families who are considering enrolling at St Joseph’s, we ask you to get them to come in and have a look. This will provide them the opportunity to have a look around, ask questions and get a feel for the wonderfully supportive learning environment that we have here. Currently, we have availability in all our classes.
Cross Country
Congratulations to all our students who participated in our school cross country last week. While everyone put in a huge effort to complete the course, the most pleasing part of this event was the way our students supported and encouraged each other throughout the races.
Stage 3 Camp
We welcome back Stage 3 after their Brisbane camp experience. Looking at the photos they have had a wonderful time and have seen many attractions in the area.
A massive thank you to Mr Maslen, Mrs Campbell, and Mr Farr, who took time away from their families to make the camp possible for our students.
PUPIL Free Day
Friday 15th of November will be a staff development day with all staff being off-site. Should parents require Out of School Hours Care, please contact Mel to book them in for this day.
End of Year Dates
Please be aware of the dates that we have in our calendar and published in the newsletter. The last day for students for the 2024 school year will be Wednesday 18th December.
OSHC Service
Keep an eye out for the flyer with dates and activities for our OSHC Vacation Care period. The service will be available throughout the holidays except the two-week closed period over Christmas and New Years, from Monday 23rd Dec to Friday 3rd Jan.
God Bless,
Brendan Moloney

Mission News
Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sitting across from the offering box, he was observing how the crowd tossed money in for the collection. Many of the rich were making large contributions. One poor widow came up and put in two small coins—a measly two cents. Jesus called his disciples over and said, “The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they’ll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn’t afford—she gave her all.”
The Month of the Rosary
On Thursday October 31st we celebrated the Month of the Rosary as a school. Stage Three led the other students in learning about the history of the Rosary and making a Rosary chain to represent 1 decade of the Rosary.
Socktober
We also celebrated Catholic Mission on October 31st by raising money for and learning about the Caring Centre in Mongolia.
Congratulations to our penalty Shoot out competition winners Ewan, AJ, Jakob and Aliarnah and our Crazy Sock competition winners Pip, Iza, Indie, Miss Youman and Mrs Verrall. A big congratulations goes to our Goalie of the day winner Mr Moloney.
