1st December, Week 8, Term 4
From Our Principal - Mr Brendan Moloney
Dear Families,
The people of Israel waited for generations for the promised Messiah to arrive. Their poetry, their songs and stories, and their religious worship focused on an awaited savior, whom God had promised, over and over, would come to them to set them free from captivity, and to lead them to the fulfillment of all that God had chosen for them.
Israel longed for a Messiah, and John the Baptist, who came before Jesus, promised that the Messiah was coming, and could be found in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, the “Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.”
Advent is a season in the Church’s life intended to renew the experience of waiting, and longing, for the Messiah. Though Christ has already come into the world, the Church invites us to renew our desire for the Lord more deeply into our lives, and to renew our desire for Christ’s triumphant second coming into the world.
Advent is the time in which we prepare for Christmas, the memorial of Jesus Christ being born into the world. Preparations are practical, like decorating a tree or stringing lights, but they’re also intended to be spiritual.
2023 Planning
We continue to plan for 2023 and I am excited to announce that staffing will remain the same for 2023. Teachers will remain on the classes they have been on for 2022. This is wonderful news and enables our fantastic team to continue the outstanding work they do each and every day, this results in a wonderfully consistent learning environment for all our students that supports them to continue to achieve in all areas of school life.
If you do know of someone who is considering enroling please encourage them to come and see us, even if they are not sure and just want to have look, they are most welcome to explore our wonderful school.
Stage 3 Camp
Stage 3 have been having a brilliant time on their Brisbane camp. We are expecting some very tired travellers to return this evening. A highlight of their journey will be there visit to Sea World today. We look forward to hearing of their exciting adventures!
We also again acknowledge that the cost of this experience has been heavily supported by donations from near and far. We thank all those who donated to our school for their generosity.
Restoration Works
Restoration works continue, although we have a slight delay as we wait for the workers who will be redoing the toilet floors. Once this is done all the fittings will be ready to reinstall and the student toilets will be up and running as normal. Our canteen restoration is now also booked in for mid-December, the floors and all the cabinetry is being replaced, all the whitegoods have already been purchased and are ready to go in.
We have also made progress on some of the outdoor work that needs to be completed. We now have four new garden beds and the sensory/yarning circle space is also starting to take shape. It is starting to look fantastic!

ADVENT
On Monday Stage 2 led the first advent Liturgy for the year. We lit the candle representing Hope and prayed for Hope in our hearts and lives during this season of Advent. Below is an excerpt from the Liturgy that I invite you to pray with your families.
The Advent wreath is a symbol of growth and of life. The circle of the candle reminds us that God’s love for us has no beginning and no end. The candles remind us of Jesus - the light of the world and a guide for us to follow. There are four candles, each representing the four Sundays of Advent - a candle for HOPE, PEACE, LOVE and JOY.
Our next Advent Liturgy and Candle lighting for the Candle of Peace will be held at 11am on Monday
