11th September, Week 8, Term 4
From Our Principal - Mrs Kristie Coster
Dear St Joseph’s Community,
My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could ever give another person.
He believed in me.
Fathers and father figures play an important role in all our lives. Their example of love and faith shines brightly as they watch over us, guide us and protect us.
A heartfelt thank you to our students and all the fathers and father figures who joined us on Friday morning to enjoy a delicious bacon and egg roll and some fun time on the ‘golf course’. We hope every dad, grandfather, and father figure felt truly appreciated and loved, recognising just how much their care and support means to their families. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the special role they play in our community!
A Prayer for Fathers
God, bless all the fathers of the world.
Guide them to be good role models and loving to all their children.
Help them to be a father like You are.
Give them grace, strength, wisdom and love
to be teachers and guides
for the young who look up to them.
Amen

Joey’s Disco
Our recent school disco was an absolute hit, filled with laughter, dancing, and great fun for all the students! It was wonderful to see so many happy faces lighting up the room as everyone enjoyed the music and balloons. A big thank you to all the parents for bringing their children along and supporting the event, and a huge shoutout to our dedicated staff whose hard work and enthusiasm made the disco such a memorable and enjoyable evening for everyone involved.

Stage 2 and 3 Camp
Last week, our Stage 2 and 3 students had a fantastic time at Camp Goodenough. The excitement was palpable on Monday morning as our students arrived at school early with their bags packed, ready to go! It was great to hear that everyone embraced the camp’s wide range of activities, from challenging ropes courses to creative team-building games. Well done to our students for giving each activity a go, even when some felt a bit nervous at first. It was a wonderful reminder of the amazing things we can achieve when we step outside our comfort zones! A big thank you to our dedicated staff for their hard work and support in taking the kids on this amazing adventure—it wouldn’t have been possible without them!

Junior Joeys
The Junior Joeys 2025 Transition Program has now been underway for two weeks, and our newest, bravest little learners have given their all during their first days at big school. They are thoroughly enjoying everything the mornings have to offer, having lots of fun listening to stories, drawing, playing and meeting new friends and teachers. It’s been wonderful to see their excitement and curiosity as they take these first important steps in their school journey!

2026 Enrolments
As we begin looking at our classes and staffing for 2026, I am asking families to let us know if your circumstances will be changing.
If your son or daughter will not be continuing at St Joseph's in 2026, I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know. Having this information now, will help us in our planning and ensure the best possible arrangements are made for all students who are currently at our school.
Please contact the school office on 66832248 or email us at crki@lism.catholic.edu.au to advise of any changes.
Blessings for a safe and happy weekend!

Reflection on the Eucharist
Each Mass reveals Christ’s real, substantial presence: bread and wine become His Body and Blood through transubstantiation, yet retain visible forms. This mystery invites us to faith, to adore the risen Savior who gives Himself wholly, nourishing souls and uniting us as one mystical Body in the Eucharistic communion forever.
From manna in the desert to the Passover lamb, God gave bread as covenant sign; Elijah shared it with the widow; Jesus broke the loaf at the Upper Room, declaring, “This is my Body,” and the early Church continued this sacred breaking, receiving Christ Himself in Eucharistic communion forever today.

The Sacrament of First Eucharist will be celebrated this Sunday, September 14. This significant sacrament marks the final Sacrament of Initiation in the Catholic Church.
We invite all members of our school and wider community to celebrate with us on this day.
We pray for Braxton, Jacob, Isabelle, William and Patrick as they prepare to receive the Sacrament for the first time.
